What is IPTV

IPTV is simply a modern method of delivery content to the masses. It’s not unlike your traditional TV connections where a signal is sent via cable or satellite, it actually works the same way only instead it uses the internet as its infrastructure. Some of the biggest TV and streaming services in the world today are simply IPTV providers.

How does IPTV work?

IPTV works by sending you a stream of your favourite live TV channels, video-on-demand and catch-up TV services via your internet connection in your home or over the cell phone network when your on the go. Gone are the days of streams that are jumpy and forever buffering. You can now get full HD streams direct to your TV, Set-top box, Laptop or mobile device without the need for cables, antennas and satellite dishes.

IPTV comes in many forms

The three most popular forms of IPTV are Video-On-Demand, time-shifted IPTV and Live IPTV. All three offer a great viewing experience and all you to watch what you want when you want to watch it. No longer are we confined to the tv schedule set out for us.

Video-On-Demand – when we think of video on demand we think of the big guns, Netflix, Amazon Prime and the all new Disney+. Getting setup is easy.. Download the app, pay your subscription and you are free to watch any of the content that is available in your country.. and thats the catch, not all content is available in all countries. There are ways around it using VPNs to unlock certain content. Check out our guide to the best VPNs for IPTV

Time-shifted IPTV – this is where you watch regular scheduled programming at a time that suits you. Pretty much every TV network has their own player. One of the most popular globally would be BBCs iPlayer. Content is usually offered free of charge. Geo restrictions do usually apply but this can be got around with a good VPN.

Live IPTV – Not unlike your standard cable or satellite service, live IPTV offers the same experience of watching live TV as it is being broadcast. However, there is one major difference – cost! The best IPTV providers offer all of the major channels from the US, UK & Ireland, Germany, France, Turkey to name a few. Services are usually offered in SD, HD and Full HD. Packages start from as little as $5.00 per month. Check out our guide to the best IPTV providers.

Is IPTV legal and safe to use?

We hear this question all the time and our answer is always YES! There is absolutely nothing illegal about IPTV or any of the devices such as mag boxes, android boxes etc. Some of the biggest IPTV providers are names like Netflix, Amazon, BBC & Disney. However, there are also a lot of providers rebroadcasting content that they may or may not have permission and the rights to do so. This is where the world of IPTV gets grey and murky and the laws are different for practically every jurisdiction. We strongly recommend you do your due diligence before signing up to any IPTV provider and check your local laws to see if you can get into trouble with the law for watching some streams paid or otherwise. Just because you pay a subscription does not automatically make it legal.

At we review lots of different IPTV providers with the intention of keeping consumers and their money safe. Some of the providers pay us for customers we send to them. This is called affiliation. do not provide any streams and we cannot be held responsible if any other providers listed on this site now or in the future are shut down. It is up to you, the consumer to check the local laws in your jurisdiction to make sure it is legal and safe to pay for and watch certain streams.
